World War II Poster Art

Lesson Plan

     Powers of Persuasion-Poster Art of World War II is an online exhibit developed by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) which features propaganda posters created by the government to generate public support for the war. Some of the posters, such as the poster featured below from the collections of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, encouraged people to buy war bonds. Using the NARA lesson plan and worksheet as a guide, have students compare the poster below with other posters in the exhibit. Pay particular attention to the exhibit components United We Win, Four Freedoms, and Warning! Our Homes Are in Danger Now.
