The existence of an
American-based academic Institute designed to provide a program of research, training, and
consultancy on African regional economic integration and cooperation issues will assist in
linking the economic/business needs of Africa and the United States where feasible.
The location of the
Institute, in Washington, D.C., with its database facilities, access to specialists and
policy makers, and relevant resource centers, will expeditiously provide governments,
African research institutes, and organizations with reliable and beneficial information
for productive decision-making on African economic integration.
The production and
provision of research and consulting activities that are of interest to U.S. and African
investors concerned with locating attractive regional markets and investment opportunities
and developing mutually desirable partnerships will help grow opportunities for African
economic integration and development.
